PROJECT MANAGER – SINGAPORE

REPORTS TO:    Chief Executive Officer – CEO and Development Manager        

SUPERVISES:      Training and Support staff 
    
JOB SUMMARY


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THE POSITION:
•    Sufficient IT Project Management qualifications that enable the Project Manager to assume responsibility for managing IT implementation projects. 
•    Experience working with implementation staff including trainers and installers.
•    Experience working with IT developers working both on-site and off-site/overseas.
•    Preferable to have a working knowledge of Java, GWT, MySQL and be able to work with other technologies and tools so that the Project Manager can assist the Development Manager monitor the progress of developments / change requests
•    Working knowledge of tools used including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, Jira. 

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

•    Perform Project activities (overall project reporting responsible person).
•    Create and maintain information technology project plans that communicate tasks, milestone dates, status and resource allocation for the following:


•    New features’ developments that are identified as required by the clients and industry, the implementation and support team, development and management teams.

•    Monitor the progress of developments and ensure timely completion of projects through the management of program development team/personnel.
•    Know and understand all Issues-bugs reported to Support staff/ Help Desk and coordinate the allocation of required development tasks – monitoring all tasks and ensuring timely completion of such.
•    Communicate with Support staff, ensuring they can adequately advise clients of expected task completion dates for issues or ‘change requests’.
•    Work with the Support staff (CEO, General Manager, Help Desk Manager, Client Manager) re the best method to achieve the meeting of client/industry change requests and program needs.
•    Coordinate timely delivery of development (beta) and production releases of various new quality application software features that need to be created, and which reflect business requirements and design specifications as developed from time to time.
•    Assist technical team in design and development strategies ie. work with the team and contribute to technical discussions regarding new or changed program requirements and/or impact of new technology on the system design or business solution.
•    Assist test team in creating test plans and testing efforts.
•    Assist the company in their responses to technical components of tenders.
•    Work with IT developers both on-site and any off-site/overseas contracted personnel, monitoring the progress of developments whilst guiding /supervising staff during their projects.
•    Work with the team to maintain documentation regarding the internal design of the software and interfaces.
•    To work collaboratively with clients, the Lead Developer, the CEO, business analysts and solution architects on web functionality projects.
•    Provide support to maintain the software.
•    Provide mentoring and cross-skilling as required from time to time.

This position requires the incumbent to be self motivated, talented and an experienced, mature individual who can manage staff within an IT team.
 
This position requires a person who truly understands customer service, is a self-starter and capable of working without constant supervision with project management capacity.
 
The person in this role shall monitor all software developments in accordance with development requirements identified via issues which arise from the software or installation of the software or ‘change order requests’ as discussed with the CEO, Lead Developer and support management team.


GENERAL TASKS :

The below responsibilities are of all staff to ensure appropriate working relationships are maintained, that Continuous Improvement is achieved and Occupational Health & Safety requirements are addressed.


General
•    Work collaboratively with other staff members
•    Handle emails on a daily basis, responding accordingly
•    Liaise with administration staff to ensure flights and accommodation are arranged as required
•    Ad hoc duties as directed by CEO or General Manager

Quality Assurance 
•    Suggest enhancements to existing procedures where appropriate and in consultation with CEO and General Manager
•    Maintain a safe environment in the office area by using equipment according to suppliers instructions
•    Participate in audits as scheduled
•    Participate in document control systems development and maintenance

Work Practices
•    Demonstrate an ability to appropriately plan procedures and complete in an appropriate time frame
•    Be aware of appropriate use of stores, equipment, the use of energy (ie. electricity)

Communication
•    Communicate effectively  with 
o    clients
o    management 
o    other staff
•    Enhance communication by reading communications and be aware of current issues

Safety
•    Ensure all accidents, incidents, difficulties, faults or breakdowns are reported immediately and documented accurately
•    Assist in maintaining a clean safe environment for colleagues and visitors
•    Adhere to occupational health and safety requirements
•    Become familiar with the emergency procedures 
•    Promote safety awareness in the work place
•    Report concerns and safety issues to the CEO or General Manager
